Quit Smoking

Last Monday my girlfriend and I quit smoking again, and that is also the reason why you all have not seen a lot of me online these past few days. I say again because I already quit smoking 2 years ago, but then I gave up the minute we started moving and rebuilding our new home, just plain too much stress. But ever since I told myself that when we would get settled I wanted to quit smoking again, and last Monday apparently that day had come. Until now it has been going up and down, especially the afternoons at work and the evenings watching football are though so I will just have to try and avoid those common smoking moments. Fortunately there are also good times, or lets say better times, I can feel my body and mind slowly adjusting to not getting my nicotine shot every hour, and this morning I actually felt good for the first time after having football practice last night. The most important thing I learned this time, which I did not yet know the other time I tried to quit smoking, is that the lack of concentration you experience a couple of times an hour/day is caused by a lowered amount of blood sugar in your body. And to my amazement this is fixed almost instantly by simply drinking a glass of fruit juice. That has really helped me a lot, not all the way cause it is still incredibly hard, but it helps if you can just stay focused at your work. Ok, I am off again, probably going downstairs to empty a bag of Liquorice candy, some crisp and the leftovers from dinner…
